publishing my content first on the web

Before you send something off to people (email, social media, blogs, etc…) you should determine if it’s something that should be on the website first.
It’s also good when emailing people to simply send them a link to our website. Here are some of the benefits of doing this:
  • They can see what’s the latest on the site
  • It keeps them connected
  • Save time on your end
  • It creates activity on the site

It’s also fun to just being able to send people to the website to the right page with the exact content/answer people are looking for.

Also, I want to make sure this is applied for newsletters as well. So make sure we stay in tight coordination about any content sent out.
But don’t get me wrong not everything will be going on the website. By far. But for the moment, I want to make sure you understand how content works and what content you should place on your site.
Almost think of your site as the hub of your communications! Really.
Put on your site:
  • What customers are asking you all the time
  • Forms
  • Newsletters
  • Etc…..
Doing so will force you to improve your website on a continual basis. It will also make your website more and more useful. And I bet that you’ll be quite proud of it as it becomes used daily and happy that you are saving time!
It take quite some effort to build a nice site but every minute of it is worth it.
Depending on your budget and the time you have available to build it, make sure though that you don’t overbuild into directions that are not immediately needed. You may be so enthusiastic that you start building a whole section of the site that you didn’t immediately needed and may not need for a while. If you have the time and money it’s a different story. But if you’re tight on either one, concentrate on publishing the content that your customers need right away.
But to come back to the topic of this article, I strongly recommend that you publish your content on your site first before sending it off to people by email or other means.
Let me know if you have any questions.
